G-Tech Optoelectronics Launches Air Conditioning Energy-Saving Project to Drive Sustainability and Carbon Reduction

Release date:2024-01-18

G-Tech Optoelectronics’ Miaoli Plant 2 has taken a significant step toward energy conservation and carbon reduction by participating in the Ministry of Economic Affairs Energy Bureau’s “Energy Efficiency Performance Guarantee Plan for Optimized Air Conditioning and Main Equipment Operation” in 2022. Recognizing the inefficiency of its aging air conditioning system, which utilized a primary chilled water system and traditional fixed-speed water-cooled screw chillers with performance below original specifications, G-Tech initiated a comprehensive upgrade project in 2023. The project replaced the outdated system with two state-of-the-art variable-speed screw chillers and multiple auxiliary variable-speed air conditioning components. Additionally, an advanced optimized operation energy management system for air conditioning and main equipment was implemented to further enhance performance.

The new system is set to commence full operations in 2024, providing precise energy usage data to scientifically validate energy-saving outcomes. This initiative is expected to significantly improve system efficiency, substantially reduce energy consumption, and lower greenhouse gas emissions, underscoring G-Tech Optoelectronics’ unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
